Teens and adults (13 and older) with at least a year of painting instruction attend weekly classes to expand their knowledge of drawing and painting. They will learn to use charcoal, graphite, watercolor, oil paint and acrylic paint. New students entering the class begin with a series of drawing exercises and then move on to painting using only a gray value scale before adding color. A solid foundation is developed through exercises that teach sighting, the use of positive and negative space, understanding of value and color theory. Demonstrations are a regular part of class instruction and students work from direct observation as well as from copies of drawings and paintings by Old Masters.
Tuition for the semester of classes is $737.50 which can be paid in full before the first class or 5 monthly installments of $147.50.
